Vampire

Basic Information

Vampires are the living dead, they do not age, they are almost immortal and they feed on blood mainly. They vary much in way of personality and looks, they often look almost identical to their human selves, perhaps a bit more lovely. They are subject to those more powerful to them and would die without their masters if they are not masters of a kind or another. Vampires can eat normal food, but it doesn't do much more than have taste. Vampires cannot get any sickness, unless a witch or similar curses them. They must feed from the living and do not need to breathe.

Appearance

They look very lovely people, the degree of loveliness depends on how they looked in life, but most are fairly pretty. As they age they will look the same as the age they died at and other than small things, like hair growth, their eyes looking more startling, things like that, they don't change from their human selves. They have small fangs which retract themselves when they don't want to use them.

Culture

A lot of vampire culture is based on fear, to keep the younger vampires from turning into murderous beasts until they learn to control themselves fully. Every city/town will usually have a master vampire, who rules over the vampires in his or her territory. Vampires must negotiate to travel or are considered trespassers and can be treated as well, or horribly as their host wishes. Within a city there is often several masters, but one rules. Master vampires usually have an animal to call, they can also call and control shape shifters of that animal form. If they have a human servant, that servant is considered sacred and other vampires rarely try to hurt them.

Vampires must follow the law of their masters, and often sleep in the same building. A lot of vampires learn to hide their feelings and opinions for fear of punishment. Vampires tend toward being decadent and theatric, but some are surprisingly practical. It is forbidden to bring over children as they will go mad.

Abilities

All vampires can feed from blood, but some can feed from other things also, such as love, lust, fear, doubt, guilt, greed. The vampires who can feed off these things can often create them. They can also trap humans with their eyes and roll them. It's a kind of hypnosis, and makes the person vulnerable to that vampires call for the rest of their lives.

All vampires at least 100 years old can turn people into vampires. They must feed of the persons blood, then make them feed on them, the human will then die, poisoned. Usually with 1 - 3 days the person recovers and becomes a vampire. They awake with a maddening hunger, and must feed. It is up to the vampires sire to care for it.

They have a variety of powers over the mind. most have one or two, and aren't shy about using them.

Vampires are also supernaturally strong, can survive with no food for long periods of time, but may become demented until sated again. Some vampires can levitate and sort of 'fly' with this ability.

Weaknesses

• Vampires are badly effected by holy items, but the wearer/user must believe in them . They will burn if they meet flesh. Holy water will burn like acid and will not heal.
• Sunlight burns them and will make them go up in flames if exposed long enough.
• Removing the head or heart will kill them.
• Fire almost always kills them.
